Alan Pratt presents Yoshi with his plaque of recognition.

Mr. Yoshihito Kamata, one of Japan's top TV/Stage Stars, whose stage name is Yoshi Ikuzo, and is Honorary Chairman of West Hawaii Crime Stoppers, was recently honored by the Hawaii County Police Department.

The banquet, held at the ANA Hotel in Tokyo, Japan Monday, November 11, 2002, was to honor his 30 years in show business and also celebrated his birthday.

During the banquet, Dr. Alan J. Pratt presented this plaque to Yoshi-San, on behalf of the Hawaii County Police Department, honoring his outstanding support of WHCS, the Big Island, the Kona coffee industry and community, by his many visits, and his dedication .

Yoshi whose hobby is Japanese calligraphy displays two he presented to the Chief. These are two very famous songs whose music and lyrics he wrote and both sold over a million copies. Also his very latest CD.

Yoshi Ikuzo, his wife Hisako and daughter Ikumi visited Hilo to meet Chief Lawrence Mahuna and make a presentation.
